DSLR Kit | Rokinon/Samyang 135mm Ring Mounting System
The nrStellar Ring Mounting System transforms your Rokinon or Samyang 135mm f/2 lens into a capable deep-sky astrophotography rig. The DSLR kit features multiple accessory mounting points, allowing you to attach a guide scope, ZWO Electronic Filter Wheel, ASI Air/Mini PC, and other accessories. These accessories can be freely interchanged, allowing you to, for example, mount the focuser on top instead of on the side. This kit is designed for those who intend to use their lens with a DSLR/mirrorless camera, as it features the riser blocks (providing room to rotate your camera without hitting the dovetail) without including the third ring designed to hold onto a dedicated astrocam. When purchasing this kit, the price is lower compared to buying each component individually (hence the reduced price listed).
Unlike other ring systems that drive the focuser with a belt, the nrStellar Ring Mounting System uses a geared autofocus adapter, allowing you to quickly rotate your camera & lens to get the perfect framing on your target.
Printed in carbon fiber-reinforced PETG, these rings will not deform if left inside your car on a hot Summer day and they feature superior rigidity and weather resistance versus other plastics. The rings are lined in weatherproof padding, which firmly grips your lens with even pressure. All of the threaded connections are stainless steel with embedded nuts — no plastic threads that will strip out if you tighten things too hard. All bolts can be tightened with 3 metric allen keys, reducing the number of tools you need to assemble your rig.
This ring system has been extensively tested for compatibility with popular astrophotography accessories. However, should you find that our rings do not match your setup, please let us know; we'd happily offer you either a refund or, depending on the issue, we may opt to design, print, and ship a custom adapter at no extra cost.
